How to Install Powershell 4.0 on Window 7 (SP1) 64 Machine


My new servers are Windows 2012 R2 and it comes with Powershell 4.0 installed. I need to catch up with my Windows 7 (SP1) machine with Powershell 4.0. Here is a simple link to the download with the file we need to download.

Download installation file named as Windows6.1-KB2819745-x64-MultiPkg.msu from this link:

http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/confirmation.aspx?id=40855

Select this file:
x64: Windows6.1-KB2819745-x64-MultiPkg.msu

Need to restart computer after installation of the update.
